AI job loss – example, perhaps

For five years, I worked for a nonprofit on behalf of health coaches. These are quasi nutritionist who work with individuals to support them through a healthcare journey, whether that's eating better, exercising, or just living a more healthy life. They are not doctors, they are not dietitians, they arr just paraprofessionals who help people.

Over the course of those five years, we rolled back licensure for dietitians in 12 states. We created an exemption to allow health coaches to practice up to their level of education and training.

Now, ChatGPT can be your health coach. It can design a diet for you, you can take pictures of everything in your kitchen, and it will make a grocery list, create meals from it, give you advice and support about how to maintain your diet, everything that a health coach is doing.

Now there are apps where you just interact with an AI, not an actual person. This is actually putting those health coaches out of business. So perhaps, this is an example of AI taking over at least part of a job that a human was doing.

An even bigger problem is that Trump is developing a system of brutal punishment for the poor while AI is taking away a huge chunk of work out there while the rich people who own Ai pay no taxes, so if nothing changes we will see a total collapse of local government and state government as their tax income goes to less than 0.
