The world's richest country needs to accept a donation for a new airplane because they're supposedly trying to save money. And the president plans to keep it after his term!

If this isn't bribery, I don't know what is. This is how classic 3rd world country bribery/corruption looks like.

Maybe Trump does care about the well being of ordinary Americans. But his actions sure looks like he's also profiting himself through things like launching a crypto shit coin, selling NFTs, dining with oligarchs (who knows what kind of deals they have), helping his oligarch friends manipulate the market, accepting a plane donation from a country.

And, an aside: I am sure this has been considered but, the amount of security implications that it would have in order to 100% know that the thing is not wired to heck and high (heh) heaven?

Security isn't much of a priority for this administration anyway.

What utility remains in giving the benefit of the doubt here, when there is so much evidence in the other direction?

It is bribery. You called it what it is, correctly. You don't have to hedge it.

This is no way to build a lasting dynasty. Some faction(s) will, rightly or wrongly, perceive this kind of thing as corruption, and use it to stir up discontent.

I mean, I'm not sure how it could be perceived as anything else, really.
